Maybe the State of Delaware is not the first one to come to mind when you think about a place to go to for a short vacation, but things are about to change. These are 5 reasons we should go to Bay Resort (Delaware) that will surely change your mind about this state.

Kayaking
An excursion by kayak is something not to be missed on. Dewey Beach and Cape Henlopen are the areas to be explored in this excursion. This activity is open to all ability levels, therefore there is nothing to really scared of. These eco tours allow you to get close to dolphins.

Fishing
Clearly if you have a body of water near the resort you will also have the opportunity to fish. The Delaware Seashore is rich in good fishing spots. If you want to catch a trophy fish you should try your luck at the Fishing Pier, found in the Cape Henlopen State Park.

Go on a brewery tour
Not everyone likes kayaking or fishing, but they still want to explore. The Dogfish Head Brewery is some 25 minutes drive away, offers free tours and the sampling of 4 beers at the end of the tour. Each tour lasts for 45 minutes and is opened to only 12 people at once.

Go on a vineyard tour
The Nassau Valley Vineyard is closer to the resort, as you only drive for 15 minutes. The tour here is self-guided, and you can see various types of vineyards: Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. You’ll be able to have a taste of one award winning wine made here.

Spend some time with the kids
This resort is ideal to bring the kids along. On Monday nights the resort plays movies for kids, on Wednesdays there is a bonfire for everyone to attend and enjoy some roasted marshmallows.
